On 1 May 1960, exactly 50 years ago, the shot later on the Glienicker bridge replaced U.S. pilot Francis Gary Powers over the Soviet Union with his trademark U2 aircraft. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung recalls in an article in this spectacular historical event.
